Dorothea M Owens *
Dorothea Maxine Otts Sowell Owens left this life for eternal life with Jesus Christ her Saviour on Tuesday, January 4, 2022.
Maxine was born to Delton Otts and Laura Belle Dyer Otts on November 24, 1940, the second of five children and the oldest daughter. She was a graduate of Magnet Cove High School Class of 1958 and worked in nursing support. Maxine was a member of the Malvern Seventh Day Adventist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Loyce Lee Sowell Jr; one son, Monte Ray Sowell; one grandson Dexter Neith Honold; two brothers Merle Otts and Wayne Otts.
Survivors include her husband of nearly 50 years Jodie “Sonny” Owens of Magnet Cove; daughters Rebecca (Mike) Tully of Magnet Cove; Robbin (Tracy) Mcdermott of Enola; Rachel Ezzell of Denver, Co; and Jackie Owens of Magnet Cove. She is also survived by a sister, Sandra McMullen and brother Jimmy (Linda) Otts of Magnet Cove, as well as eleven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, many cousins, nieces and nephews and one beloved Aunt Shirley Murberger.
She loved her family deeply and she will be missed. Internment will be at Cooper Cemetery. No services are planned at this time.
