Sylvester S Goff *

Fayetteville – Sylvester Singleton , 91, of Route 1, Fayetteville died Thursday in a hospital after a illness. Born Jan. 11, , in Putnam County, he was the son of the late Jabe and Augusta Goff. He was a retired miner and merchant and a member of the First Brethren Church at Gatewood and the Knights of Pythios Lodge. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Bessie Goff; three sons, Jesse C. and Walter E., both of Fayetteville, Route 1, and Clifton Max Goff of Minden; a sister, Mrs. Stella Espet of Charleston; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the First Brethren Church at Gatewood with Rev. E. L. in charge. Burial will be in the Huse Memorial Park at Fayetteville. The body will remain at the Dodd- Funeral Home in Fayetteville where friends call after 5 p.m. Saturday. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to the funeral.
