Charles J. Biddle *
Charles J. Biddle, 82, director emeritus of Indiana Farmers Mutual Insurance Company, died Thursday, Nov. 24, at Home Hospital in Lafayette.
Retired since 1972, Mr. Biddle dedicated a lifetime of service to the insurance industry. He served as Secretary and vice President of Indiana Farmers and Town and Country Mutual Insurance Companies. In January, 1952, he succeeded his father as secretary-treasurer and manager of Remington Farmers Mutual Insurance Company, which his grandfather held found in 1897. His other business interests included past ownership of P–de Insurance Agency, past member of the board of directors of Indiana Union Mutual Insurance Company, past director of the State Bank of Remington, past president and director of the National Association of Indiana (MICAI) and past director of the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC). He was present of Fame Award by MICIA in 1980.
Mr. Biddle was a member and elder of First Presbyterian Church of Remington, Indiana and church treasurer for more than 30 years. He was a 50 year member of Masonic Lodge.
A lifelong resident of Remington, Indiana, he was a graduate of Remington High School. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Indiana University in 1937.
He married Martha Mason in 1943 and she survves. Also surviving are two daughters, Janie B. Whaley of New Albany, Indiana and Sally Biddle McGuffey of Indianapolis, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is at Stitz Funeral Home from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 27. Funeral Services will be held at First Presbyterian Church, Remington, Indiana at 11 am EST Monday, Nov. 28.
