Milton L Shockey *

MR. LAMAR , 67, of 138 South Church Street, Waynesboro, PA, died at 6:32 P.M. Sunday, October 28, in his home. He was in failing health since 2007 and critically ill for the past 10 days. He was born on November 4, in Waynesboro; he was the son of the late Milton W. Shockey and Pauline (Rock) Shockey. He lived all his life in the Quincy and Waynesboro areas. Mr. Shockey graduated from Quincy High School with the class of 1959. He and his wife, Mrs. Beverly K. () Shockey, were married on May 4, 1963 in the Blue Rock United Church in Christ, Waynesboro. They moved to the present residence in . In his early years, he worked at Wertz Orchards in Quincy and the A&P Supermarket in Waynesboro. Prior to retiring in December , he was employed as a clerk in the stock room at Teledyne Landis, Waynesboro for 39 years. He was a member of Quincy United Methodist Church, Quincy, PA for 51 years and attended Blue Rock United Brethren in Christ Church, Waynesboro, and was a member of P.O.S. of America in Quincy and Joe Stickell American Legion Post 15 of Waynesboro. His hobbies included vegetable gardening, attending auctions, watching baseball, traveling, and spending time with his dog “Angel”. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Chris L. Shockey of Waynesboro. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with Rev. Dr. Wilber L. Sites officiating. It was his request to have no public viewing, but the family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad Street, Waynesboro. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery near Quincy. Memorial contributions may be made to Antietam Humane Society, 8513 Lyons Road, Waynesboro, PA 17268.
