Harry Stinson , 75, Akron, and formerly of Macy, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 4, , at his residence.

Born Aug. 21, , in Rochester, , he was the son of Ervin Eli and Phyllis June (Eberle) Books. He was married to Rama Sue “Susie Q” (Deaton) Books, who preceded him in death. He was later married to Veronica Books, who survives.

He was a 1966 graduate of North Miami High School and had owned/operated Harry’s Trash Service. He had also worked for B. Walter in Wabash, Olympic Fiberglass in Rochester, and more than 30 years at Jobsite in Rochester. He was a member of the Macy Christian Church. He was a nonstop talker and never knew a stranger. He loved visiting with people and spending time at the campground at Lake 16 and hunting mushrooms in the woods.

Survivors also include his children, daughter Peggy Sue Books (Larry Luttrell), Combs, Ky., and son Steven Dawayne (Tammy) Books, Lexington, Ky.; and special niece, Mickie Hoffman, Macy, who he loved like a daughter; eight grandchildren, Mikala Books (Darryl Kozel), Rockford, Ill., Brittany (Wayne) , Indianapolis, Tyler Books, Lexington, Ky., Keeton Kerschner, Waverly, Kody (Jessica) Kerschner, Logansport, Derrick Kerschner, Logansport, Sierra Riddle, Lexington, Ky., and Darren Riddle, Lexington, Ky.; eight great-grandchildren; stepchildren Donald Houston, Rochester; Monica Wilson, Denver, and Ladonna Ramirez Hernandez, Logansport; and several stepgrandchildren and stegreat-grandchildren; siblings Honey Marlene (Loren) Pruitt, Warsaw, Roxanna M. (Paul) Carter, Peru, Sandy K. , Peru, Christina M. Drudge, , Juneattea (Rick) May, Rochester, and James (Linda) , Florida; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife and three siblings, Richard Books, Aloralee Bromley, and Joyce Martin.

Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 10, 2022, at Plainview Cemetery, Macy, with Pastor Dave Welsh officiating.

A gathering of friends and family will follow until 6 p.m. at the Macy Christian Church Fellowship .
