Doris Evelyn Register Shockey. a resident of Screamer, Alabama passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Alabama. She was 90 years old.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. Central Standard Time at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery in Fort Mitchell, Alabama with Chaplain Kathy Stumbaugh officiating and Glover Funeral Home of Eufaula directing. A visitation will be held from 10:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. prior to the service at Glover Funeral Home in Eufaula, Alabama.
Doris was born November 11, 1931, in Hartford, Alabama the daughter of the late Leon Fons and Obie Dot White Register. She was employed by Sears until her retirement. Doris loved working outside with her flowers, reading, sewing, and crossword puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of 51 years, Kenneth Wayne Shockey; two sons, Gregory Anderson and Jeffery Anderson; sister, Mildred Lois Hartin; brother, Cletus Leon Register.
Left to cherish her memories are two sons, Steven Anderson and Kelvin Anderson; two daughters, Candace Southern (Cary) and Theresa Legieza; sister, Betty Ann Hawkins; seven grandchildren, Sonja Hatmaker, Phillip Settles, Dusty Guevara, Kimberly Chapman, Ginger Anderson, Ashlee Wright, and Daniel W. Rhodes; one adopted granddaughter, Amanda McLain; seven great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Green plants will be accepted.
