Carl R. Moon
Carl R. Moon, 77, of Hillsboro, died Friday, Oct. 23, 1992 at Clinton Memorial Hospital. He was a retired material handler with the Frigidaire corporation, an Army veteran of World War II, member of Hillsboro Eagles Aerie No. 1161 and Hillsboro Armvets Post no. 61. Mr. Moon was born in Wood County, on Nov. 6, 1914, the son of Norman A. and Dency L. ( Shockey ) Moon. His survivors include his wife, Mabel ( Williamson ) Moon whom he married on March 17, 1958; four daughters, Elizabeth Bailey of Miami, Fla., Helen Farris of Chattanooga, Tenn., Alice Lemley of Hillsboro, Jean Jones, of Fordsville, Ky.; two sons, James Moon of Hillsboro and Albert Moon of St. Augustine, Fla.; one foster daughter, Susan Cook of Martinsville; two brothers, Walter Moon of Dayton and Norman D. ” Shorty ” Moon of Hillsboro; on sister, Annabelle Lewis of Bradenton, Fla.; 20 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Katherine Moon; a foster son, Harry W. Williamson, and one brother, Harold Moon. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Turner and Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro where Gary Bailey will officiate. Burial will follow in the Barnes Cemetery. Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home on Monday with Eagles Services at 7:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2805 W.
