Joyce E Shockey *

Joyce Elaine , 93, of Waynesboro went to be with the Lord at her home on Wednesday, 24, 2023.
Joyce was born to the late Olive Knepper Mentzer and Earl Glenn Mentzer, Sr. of Mentzer Gap Road.
She was a member of the graduating class of Quincy High School and attended Liberty College in Lynchburg, VA.
She was an accountant for Frick Company and Fairchild Aircraft business offices, and was an office manager for 18 years at Mentzer and Chrysler Plymouth dealership on Church Street, Waynesboro.
Joyce was a lifelong member of the United Brethren Church. She faithfully attended Otterbein Church online for the past 2 ½ years.
Joyce is survived by her daughter, Paula Conca of Waynesboro, two grandchildren Dr. Molly Kopec (Dr. Brian) of Marietta, PA and Paul Conca (Kendra) of Keller, TX, four great-grandchildren, Jocelyn Mae and Moses Kopec, and Levi Harrison and Everett Ford Conca, as well as many relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband of 25 years, Guy Paul Shockey, Jr., her dear brother, Earl Glenn Mentzer, Jr., and favorite aunt and uncle Arlene and Gilson of Quincy.
Joyce was a blessing to the lives of all who knew her. She cared for many elderly relatives, was a daily presence in the lives of her daughter and grandchildren, and remained close through the years with her cousin, Doris Knepper McCarthy, her sister in-law, Shelva Jeanne Carter, as well as all of her friends on Strickler Avenue. She will be dearly missed.
Service honoring the memory of Joyce Shockey will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 1, 2023 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro.
Family and friends are invited to view at 10 a.m. Let us join in the celebration of her return Home.
