James Wynn *
James Anthony “Tony” Wynn was born March 20, 1950, and departed this life Monday, August 7, 2023, reaching the age of 73 years. He was the son of the late James “Jim” and Verlee Eugena “Jean” (Bertram) Wynn. Tony grew up in the Windy community of Wayne County where he helped on the family farm.
He is survived by: one sister Pamela Coomer (Macky); one niece, Elise Shockey (Ogulcan Borova); great nieces, Claire Shockey, Sophia Shockey, and Alara Borova; and special friends, Elizabeth Robertson, and Perry and Hannah Hovermale; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.
Tony was a graduate of Wayne County High School Class of 1968. He attended SCC before moving to Muncie, Indiana where he then graduated from Ball State University. He worked for Allegheny Steel of New Castle, Indiana and worked until his retirement. He was also a member of the National Guard.
He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 12, 2023, between 11 am – 1 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 1 pm at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
