Joyce Novosad
Joyce Novosad, 76, of Rosenberg, Texas passed away on October 7, 2023 surrounded by her family. She was born on June 11, 1947 in East Bernard, Texas to Willie “Bill” and Ella Mae (Enax) Hacker. Joyce’s hobbies included cooking, entertaining and cheering on the Houston Astros. She also loved listening and singing to music. Joyce’s greatest joy was spoiling and cheering on her grandchildren. This loving mother, “Gran”, sister, aunt, and friend will be missed.
In addition to her parents, Joyce is preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Novosad.
Survivors include her children, Christopher Novosad (Jordan Willis) and Amy Cate (Brian Cate); grandchildren, Kayla Shockey, Mason Shockey and Coker Novosad-Wagner; sisters, Carolyn Sabrsula and Judy Janecek; sisters-in-law, Rosalie Meyer, Marie Sekula and Addie Jackson; nephews, Jonathan & Tim Sabrsula, and Jeff & Stephen Janecek; along with extended family and friends.
Her family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to Remy Sudario for not only being Joyce’s amazing and loving caretaker, but also a dear friend during her final days. They will be forever grateful for her care and love.
A memorial will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 13, 2023 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. The family will receive guests starting at 1:00 p.m. The services will be LIVESTREAMED through the funeral home website.
The family will gather at a later date for a private service to lay Joyce to rest next to her husband, Gilbert, at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg.
