Gail R Fried

Gail Rochelle was born on November 20, , in Chester, IL. She went to Heaven on October 15, , at age 71, very unexpectedly, after catching the flu. Gail was the daughter of the late Roy & Jo Ann . She is survived by her husband of 53 years, William Paul Fried; daughter, Wenesday (Greg) Ketron; granddaughters, Kayla Rochelle Ketron & Sarah Grace Ketron; bonus grandson, Ketron; sister, Barbara (Terry) ; and nephews, Rob (Heather) , CJ Davis, (Rui) Shockey, & Paul (Autumn) Fried.
Gail graduated from Cleveland Heights High School in Cleveland Heights, OH, and attended Kent State University, in Kent, OH, where she met Bill. Gail worked as a civilian for the Navy for 29 years in the United States, the Philippines, and Scotland.
Gail LOVED her family fiercely, and was a devoted mom, grandma, and wife. She was cherished by her family. She adored her precious rescue dog, Lily Belle, and her rescue granddog, Wiley. Gail loved people, all dogs, gorillas, trees, rainy days, swimming, make-up, chocolate milkshakes, going out to eat, playing board games, and vacationing with her family.
She enjoyed playing mahjong and cards with her friends in their neighborhood clubhouse, and regularly organized social events in her close knit community. She never met a stranger, and would, without hesitation, give the shirt off her back to someone in need. She continuously put others before herself. She loved making people happy, and hated seeing people she loved sad. She was honest, and always did the right thing. She saw the beauty in all situations, and noticed and celebrated the silver lining in the clouds. She was generous and kind, with a great sense of humor and a contagious laugh.
Per Gail’s wishes, no public service is scheduled. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Gail’s honor to your local animal shelter.
