Staat T Stymiest *

Mr. Staat Talesin , 92, of Mont Alto, PA, passed away Sunday, May 23, in Quincy Village, Quincy, PA.
Born November 16, 1928 in Mont Alto, he was the son of the late W. and Alberta L. (Miley) Stymiest.
Mr. Stymiest was a graduate of Quincy High School with the Class of 1947.He served in the United States Army with the 176th Field Battalion during the Korean War. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal with 2 Bronze stars.
He and his wife of over 70 years, H. Elizabeth () Symiest, were married January 4, in Hagerstown, MD.
Mr. Stymiest was employed by Letterkenny Army Depot as a missile mechanic for over 35 years. He retired in 1984.
He was a member of The Seventh Day Adventist Church, Waynesboro, Acacia Lodge #586, Waynesboro, for over 60 years where he served as Worshipful Master in 1961, life member of the Mont Alto Fire Company where he has been a member since 1945, Charles Nitterhouse V.F.W. Post #1599, Chambersburg and Mont Alto Historical Society.
Mr. Stymiest enjoyed golf, had a deep love for music, was an avid fan of baseball all of his life, especially York Yankees baseball and enjoyed playing chess
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children: Nancy Joy Weller () of Chambersburg, Dirk T. Stymiest of Waynesboro, Patti D. Stitely (Gary) of Fayetteville, PA and Mary A. Kerr (Ward) of LaGrange, KY; three grandchildren, Nathan Stymiest (Cheryl), Shane Stymiest (Bobbi Jo ), and Miley (Michael); three great-grandchildren, Lucas Stymiest, Talia Klein, and Presley Jo Stymiest; one sister, Amelita Koller of Fredericksburg, VA; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven siblings, Delma Stymiest, Eunice Shirey, James Stymiest, Stymiest, Luena Staley, Beatrice Stymiest, Queba Hormes.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 P.M., Sunday, June 6, 2021 in St. Paul United Methodist Church, 750 Norland Ave., Chambersburg. A Masonic Funeral will be held by the members of Acacia Lodge #586 just prior to the religious service at 3:00 P.M. Following the services military honors will be conducted by the honor guard of Charles Nitterhouse V.F.W. Post #1599, Chambersburg. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M., Sunday afternoon, at the church.
