Leah McIntyre
Former Akron area resident Leah McINTYRE, 87, Fort Mill, N.C. and Lake Placid, Fla., died at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Hospital, Charlotte, N.C. Survivors include two sons, Eugene McINTYRE, Fort Mill, and Dr. William J. McINTYRE, Coatsville. Her husband, Russell McINTYRE, died in 1981. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Akron Church of God with the Revs. Harold CONRAD and James MALBONE officiating. Burial will be in the Athens Cemetery. Visitation is from 4-9 p.m. Sunday at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron. Monday, November 28, 1988, Services for Leah B. McINTYRE, 87, of 157 Ed Thompson Rd., Fort Mill, S.C., were to be at 11 a.m. today at the Akron Church of God. The Rev. James MALBONE was to officiate, and burial was to be in the Athens Cemetery. Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron, was in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Mrs. McINTYRE died at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Hospital, Charlotte, N.C. following a six-month illness. She was born Nov. 7, 1901 in Ora to James Madden and Josephine Alice WILLIAMS DILTS and had lived in the Akron and Rochester areas before moving to the Lake Placid, Fla., area 25 years ago. She was married Feb. 10, 1923 in Monterey to Russel McINTYRE, who died April 9, 1981. She was a member of Akron Church of God, attended the Lake Placid Community Church of God, and was a charter member of the Stringtown Friendship Club. Surviving are two sons, William J. [McINTYRE], Coatesville, and Eugene D. [McINTYRE], Fort Mill; a sister, Erlyene SAVAGE, Houston, Texas; seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Four sisters, a brother and a grandson preceded in death.
