Lewis E. Shockey
Lewis E. Shockey, 88, of Meyersdale RD 4, died Oct. 28, 1993, at his home. Born June 25, 1905, in Greenville Township, a son of the late Herman and Susan (Werner) Shockey. Also preceded in death by his first wife, Naomi (Mankamyer) Shockey; his second wife, Rosella Bittner Shockey, and a son, the Rev. James Shockey. Survived by these children: Lewis E. Shockey Jr., Pontiac, Mich.; Dale Shockey, Cumberland, Md.; Genevieve Crissinger, Meyersdale RD 4; Rev. Edward Shockey, Wellersburg, and Audrey Thierry, La Vale, Md. Survived by a brother, Robert E. Shockey, Meyersdale RD 3; 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. A member of Comps Church, Hyndman RD 1. Retired telegraph operator for the Western Maryland Railroad. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale, where service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, with Pastor Robert Williams officiating. Interment Temple Cemetery, Meyersdale RD 4.
