Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 22, at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home, with Rev. Kihwan Choi of the Marseilles United Methodist Church officiating. Military honors will follow services at the funeral home on Saturday. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Nichol Cemetery at a later date.
Dean was born August 29, 1947 in Waynesboro, PA to John and Helen (Lambert) Cashman. On August 2, 1969, he married Pauline Freeman of Indiana.
He graduated from Waynesboro High School in 1965 and from Penn State. He served in the Air Force. He attended the Marseilles United Methodist Church. He was employed by Borg Warner, GE Plastics, and Sabic until his retirement. Dean enjoyed golfing, watching baseball, and was a volunteer for United Way preparing taxes.
Dean is survived by his wife, Pauline; one son, LT Charles Cashman, USNR, of San Diego, CA; one granddaughter, Bethany of Hawaii; one brother, John F. (Connie) Cashman of Popular Bluff, MO; one sister, Judy (Jason) Snurr of Oakland, Maryland; three nephews Danny, JD, and Gordy; and his loving dog, April.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his twin brother, Alan, in infancy.
Memorials may be given to Pet Projects or Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
