Catherine Shockey
Shockey–Catherine, wife of John Shockey, of Salt River township, Adair county, Mo., died on Monday, Sept. 26th, 1887, aged 56 years. She was converted when near 18 years of age and joined the U.B. Church in the state of Indiana. Since she came to Missouri a number of years ago with her husband and family, she has not been identified with any church. But in her last hours said she had a clear hope of heaven and desired her friends to meet her there. She leaves a husband, two sons and three daughters to mourn. May the good spirit of the master sustain them in this sore trial and lead them all to the better land.
