RITES SCHEDULED FOR FAYETTE MAN

FAYETTEVILLE (RNS) — Dennis Madison Shockey, 73, of Fayetteville died Tuesday morning in an Oak hospital after a illness.

Born June 9, 1899, in Fayette County, he was a son of the late Hayden and Sara Martin Shockey.

He was a member of the Fayetteville Baptist Church and LaFayette Lodge No. 157, Ancient Fres and Accepted Masons, of Fayetteville.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Grace Shockey; three sons, Gene of Fairmont, Jack principal at Fayetteville High School, and of Sauk Village, Ill.; one brother, Walter of Fayetteville; four sisters, Mrs. Lena Holstine of Branch and Mrs. Pattie Nugen, Mrs. Clara and Mrs. Annie Bennett, all of Fayetteville, and nine grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Dodd-Payne Funeral Home in Fayetteville with Rev. David Sneed in charge. Burial will be in the Huse Memorial Park at Fayetteville.
