Aaron D Bishop *

Aaron D. Bishop, 71, Medford, died on Sunday, March 6 at Golden LivingCenter in Rib Lake, where he had resided the past three weeks, while under hospice care.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 12 at 11 a.m. at United Methodist Church in Medford, with Rev. Dr. Michael Adedokun officiating. Interment of his cremated remains will take place at Flora Cemetery in Slabtown at a later date.


Aaron Bishop was born on September 15, 1939 in the Town of Westboro to the late Oren Edward and Frieda Margaret () Bishop. He attended Cedar Lake, Ind., elementary schools and was a graduate of Crown Point, Ind., High School.


On January 4, in Lancaster, he married Sharon R. Edgington, who survives. He served in the United States Army, then after the service moved to Cedar Lake where he worked at his father’s tree trimming service. He then moved to Stoughton and later to Lancaster where he worked at John Deere Company for 10 years. They moved to Medford in where he worked at Biewer Saw Mill in Prentice until retirement.


He enjoyed fishing, gardening and dancing.


In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter, Teresa (Curtis) of Antioch, Tenn.; three sons, Robert, Eric and Chad, all of Medford; a step-son, Everett Strobrush of Madison; two sisters, Carol Cedarholm of Medford and Darlene (Pat) Preman of Suring; two half-brothers, Danny Domine of Lisbon and Wayne Domine of Medford; a half-sister, Joy Hudak of Duluth, Minn.; a step-sister, Shirley (Darrell) Sams of Crown Point, Ind.; a step-brother, (Sandy) Smallfield of Spring, Texas; his mother-in-, Myra Schauff of Lancaster; two sisters-in-law, Dolores Moneypenny of Black River Falls and Phyllis (Karl) Leeser of Fennimore; a brother-in-law, Everett (Joan) Edgington of Preston; seven grandchildren; and one step-grandchild.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Edward, in infancy.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given to the family to help with expenses.
