Agnes D. Shockey *
Agnes D. (Rankin) Shockey, 92, of Lower Georges Creek Road, Lanacoming, died Monday, March 19, 2007, at Braddock Hospital, Cumberland.
Born Feb. 1, 1916, in Lonaconing, she was the daughter of the late James Rankin and Nellie (Thomas) Rankin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry (Yi) Shockey on Dec. 20, 1987; and one son, Ernest Shockey; one brother, James Rankin; two sisters, Annie Ryan and Elizabeth Rankin.
She was a member of the Lonaconing Republican Club and the Senior Citizens of Barton and Lonaconing. She was a homemaker who enjoyed playing bingo twice a week in Barton, Lonaconing, Midland and Shaft.
She is survived by one daughter, Sandra Livengood and husband Irvin, Frostburg; three sons, James Shockey and friend Anna, Lonaconing, Kenneth Shockey and wife Sandra, Lorena, Texas, and Paul Shockey and wife Donna, LaVale; nine grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, John “Sonny” Rankin, Westminster; and one daughter-in-law, Irma Shockey, Lonaconing.
Family and friends will be received at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, PA., Lonaconing, on Thursday, March 22, 2007, from 7 to 9 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, March 23, 2007, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. George Loar officiating.
Interment will be held at Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland.
