August L Payne *

Our angel August Lauren age 10 of Watertown, passed away Wednesday, March 2, at her home in her parents loving arms.

She was born December 27, in Parkersburg, WV, a daughter of Bradley S. and Virginia L. “Jenny” Payne, Watertown. Lauren had attended St. Johns School, Churchtown, Ohio and was a 4th grade student at Waterford Elementary. She loved animals and her family’s farm and showing her goats and calves at the local fairgrounds. Lauren was a member of the Churchtown Community Crew 4-H Club and a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church, Barlow, Ohio.

In addition to her parents, Lauren is survived by her sister, Ashley Payne; her twin brother, Austin Levi Payne; maternal grandmother, Sandra Shockey of Watertown; paternal grandmother, Laroma Payne of St. Albans, WV; aunts and uncles, Becky and Richard Ingram of St. Albans and and Tammy Shockey of Williamstown, WV; numerous cousins; her best friend, Faith Huck and several other loving friends. The family wishes to thank Lauren’s nurse, Ruth Morse for her care and kindness.

Lauren was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Robert F. Shockey; paternal grandfather, Paul D. Payne; two uncles, Robert F. Shockey II and Robert J. Payne; and one cousin, William H. Shockey.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 5, 2011 at the Lighthouse Baptist Church, Barlow with Pastor A.C. officiating. Private graveside services will be at the convenience of the family. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Friday at the -Tatman Funeral Home, Belpre, Ohio and Saturday one hour prior to the services at the church.
