Barbartine Perry *
Barbartine Arnett Perry of Vanceburg, KY, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at Grant Medical Center, Columbus, OH, at the age of 79 years, 9 months, and 10 days. She was born Friday, November 17, 1939 at Johnson Fork, KY, in Magoffin County, daughter of the late Wiley & Maudie Keeton Arnett.
She was united in marriage to Vernon Leo Perry on September 21, 1957. This union was blessed with five children, Michele, Robin, Andrea, William, and Lawana. She was a retired cook. She was a Christian and a member of the Redeemed Baptist Church, Caney, KY. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, and will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her foster parents whom raised her from the age of 5, Hager & Eliza Arnett; two brothers, Wiley Arnett, Jr. and Doyle Brown; and two sisters, Naomi Dunn and Callie Bardburn.
She is survived by her husband, Vernon Leo Perry; four children, Michele Perry of Sterling, VA, Robin Bartlett of Jackson, GA, Andrea & Nathan Wilkes of Griffin, GA, and William & Peggy Perry of Friend, NE; one adopted daughter, Lawana Hurst of Sterling, VA; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; six brothers, Hager Arnett, Jr., of West Liberty, KY, Evert Arnett of Brazil, IN, Earl Brown, Johnny Brown, Jarrett Brown, and Faron Brown all of AZ; and one sister, Martha Sue Snyder of FL.
Funeral service 3 p.m., Saturday, August 31, 2019 at the Redeemed Baptist Church, with Elder Roy Collett officiating. Burial to follow in the Wheeler – Walnut Grove Cemetery, Stacy Fork, KY. Visitation 6 p.m., Friday, August 30, 2019 at the Redeemed Baptist Church, Caney, KY.
