Beverly Jean Withers
SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP – Beverly Jean (Myers) Withers passed away May 30, 2017.
Beverly was born Feb. 10, 1942, in Youngstown, daughter of the late Atty. Mark G. Myers and the late Ruby A. Bishop Myers.
Beverly was a 1960 graduate of Springfield Local High School, and lived her life in Springfield Township. She was a lifelong member of the Petersburg Presbyterian Church, and she was the choir director.
She particularly enjoyed singing, she did love to sing! She also enjoyed working as assistant postmaster at the Petersburg Post Office. But most of all, she loved being surrounded by her family and friends at Honey Creek Farms, where she always had homemade cookies and iced tea in a frosted glass ready for anyone who stopped by. She was proud to be a farmer, and last year, she and her husband of 57 years, Gordon, were honored as “Citizens of the Year” by the American Milking Shorthorn Society for their contributions to the dairy industry.
She is survived by her husband, Gordon Withers, whom she married Oct. 15, 1960; children Ginger Withers (Chris Wallace) and Howard Withers (Tricia Withers); grandchildren Olivia Withers, Gordon Paul Wallace, Ivy Withers, Noah Withers, and Ruby Withers; and her sister, Ruth (Tom) Williams.
She was preceded in death by children Samuel Gordon (Heidi) Withers and Richard Timothy and Dawn Slater Withers; and siblings Kenneth Myers and Karen Oesch.
Services will be at noon on Monday, June 5, at the Petersburg Presbyterian Church, and family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m., prior to the service.
A graveside memorial will be held for the immediate family, immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The Deacon’s Fund, Petersburg Presbyterian Church, PO Box 219, Petersburg, OH 44454.
