Carolyn S. “Sue” Shockey, 76, of Pontiac, passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at 11:45 pm at OSF St. James Hospital in Pontiac.
Services for Sue will be Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home in Pontiac with Reverend Gretchen Stinebaugh officiating. Following the services, burial will be in Hudson Cemetery in Hudson.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home in Pontiac.
Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home in Pontiac is in charge of the arrangements.
Sue was born on August 6, 1947, in Bloomington, to Harold and Margarite (Smith) McCurdy. She married Elvin E. Shockey on June 14, 2014, in Hudson. He survives in Pontiac.
Survivors are her son, Kenneth E. (Kim) Funk of Hudson; daughter, Rebecca Funk of Bloomington; 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; sisters, Sharon Hummel of Pontiac and Margie Adams of Normal.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Jim McCurdy and Richard McCurdy.
Sue was educated at Bloomington High School. She was employed with Heritage Manor in Bloomington until retiring in 2011.
