Carrie Louise Shockey, 62, of Buckhannon, met Jesus on Saturday, September 25, 2021, under the wonderful and loving care of WV Hospice and Holbrooks Health Care Center.
She was born in Buckhannon on January 26, 1959, the first born daughter of Donald M. and Loretta Fuller Shockey.
Forever cherishing their memories of Carrie’s friendly and outgoing nature along with her parents are two sisters: Tammie J. Shockey of Cape Coral, FL and Tonnya K. Lowther and husband, Edward N., of Buckhannon; two nieces: Brandi Shea Migaiolo and husband, Joe, and Shalayna Jade Lowther; one great niece, Jade Nicole; one great nephew, Maxum Jeffrey; one aunt and uncle, Archie and Carrie Fuller of Wooster, OH; and special friend, Bonnie Grunberg.
Carrie was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents: Ronald and Oleta Fuller; and paternal grandparents: Harold and Lucinda Shockey.
Carrie was a Christian by faith and a member of South Buckhannon Mission Church, where she was a blessing to all who worshipped with her. She worked for many years with her best friends at the Work Adjustment Center. Carrie loved her music and had such a passion of dance. She also loved camping with her sisters at Twin Lake campgrounds.
Family and friends will gather for Visitation at South Buckhannon Mission Church located at 152 Randolph Street in Buckhannon on Thursday, September 30, 2021 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Funeral Services will begin at 1 p.m. with Pastor Ed Lowther officiating. Interment will follow at Upshur County Memorial Park in Buckhannon.
