Colleen J Shockey *
Colleen June Shockey passed away February 12, 2016 at her home surrounded by family after a battle with COPD.
Colleen was born December 24, 1941 in Prineville Oregon to Custer and Letha Keyes. She was the oldest child, the only daughter of five children and the twinkle of her daddy’s eye. At a very young age the family moved to Idaho and Colleen spent her childhood years growing up in the Magic Valley area.
In 1958 she married Ike Shockey. During this marriage they had four daughters, Terri, Cindy, Penny and Kristi. In 1972 they moved to Rupert Idaho where they raised their family. Ike and Colleen later divorced. In the early 90’s she met Bob Paul who remained her companion until her passing.
Colleen held several jobs throughout her life. She worked at the Blue Lakes trout farm, was an avid bowling coach for so many young kids, Hill Oil, Smoking Hot Deals but most importantly she was a homemaker and a fantastic mom and grandmother.
Colleen had many hobbies, fishing, hunting, bowling, gambling, golfing, dice and card games all of which were more special when she was doing it with her family and friends.
Colleen is survived by her children, Terri (Mike) Albert, Cindy (Dennis) Burton, Penny Shockey, Kristi (Mark) DeWitt, companion Bob Paul, brothers Melvin (Maggie) Keyes, Jim(Shanon) Keyes, Dale (Jenni) Keyes, Henry (Dee) Keyes, Grandchildren Jarad (Jessica) Webb, Candy Tipton, Justin (Jennifer) Webb, Stephanie Albert (William Streling), Tina (Gabe) Rebollozo, Tyson (Britny) Damron, Morgan DeWitt and Wyatt DeWitt. She also has 14 great grandchildren and one on the way she was very excited about.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandchild Steven(Ike)Damron.
The family would like express gratitude to Lacey (Minidoka Home Health & Hospice), Dr. Jeff Swenson and the staff on the 2nd and 4th floors at St. Lukes Twin Falls.
Mom, you are the most caring, generous beautiful person ever. You are loved by all and will be missed more than words can express. Love you!!
Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Joel Heward Hansen Mortuary. Gathering for family and friends will be held for one hour prior to the services at the mortuary. Condolences may be left at hansen -mortuary.com.
