Darren L Barney *

Darren Lynn , age 58, of Berkeley Springs, WV, went home to be with Jesus and to sing in the Hallelujah Band on Thursday, 2, at his home surrounded by his family and while under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.

Born September 3, in Winchester, VA, he was the son of the late Robert Freddie and Mary Ruth Barney.

He was a blood bought, Bible believing, born again follower of Jesus Christ and attended Wesleyan Chapel. Darren was a graduate of Berkeley Springs High School and received his certificate in electronics from Rumsey Technical Institute in Martinsburg, WV. He and his wife, Anita were owner-operators of Ridge Runner Hauling LLC and was an entrepreneur in several other business adventures. Darren was an avid conspiracy theorist. He enjoyed music, going fishing, going to the beach and collecting seashells. He was an amazing husband, father and pappy and loved spending time with his family especially his grandsons.

Darren is survived by his wife, Anita Louise Barney, at home, two children, Victoria Keefer and her husband, Jeffery and Andrew Stotler and his wife, Lynette, all of Berkeley Springs, two grandsons, Remington James Stotler and Carson Nathanael Keefer and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 6, 2024 at Helsley- Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, WV, where the family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Pastor Matthew Swope will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery.
