Dennis Madison Shockey

RITES SCHEDULED FOR FAYETTE MAN

FAYETTEVILLE (RNS) — Dennis Madison Shockey, 73, of Fayetteville died Tuesday morning in an Oak hospital after a short illness.

Born June 9, 1899, in Fayette County, he was a son of the late Hayden and Sara Shockey.

He was a member of the Fayetteville Baptist Church and LaFayette Lodge No. 157, Ancient Fres and Accepted Masons, of Fayetteville.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Grace Spangler Shockey; three sons, Gene of Fairmont, Jack principal at Fayetteville High School, and of Sauk Village, Ill.; one brother, Walter of Fayetteville; four sisters, Mrs. Lena Holstine of Branch and Mrs. Pattie , Mrs. Clara and Mrs. Annie Bennett, all of Fayetteville, and grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Dodd-Payne Funeral Home in Fayetteville with Rev. David Sneed in charge. Burial will be in the Huse Memorial Park at Fayetteville.
