Donald M Shockey *

Donald M. Shockey, 87, of Buckhannon, , met Jesus on Tuesday, June 14, , in Elkins, West Virginia.

He was born Aug. 13, , in Springs, West Virginia, a son of the late Harold and Lucinda Ware Shockey.

On May 28, , he married Loretta , who survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Tonnya Lowther and husband, Ed, of Buckhannon, and Tammie Shockey of Cape Coral, ; two granddaughters, Brandi Shea and husband, Joe, of Buckhannon, and Shalayna Jade Lowther of Martinsburg, West Virginia; three great-grandchildren, Jade Nichole, Maxum Jeffrey and Knox; and two special friends, Bonnie Grunberg and Marrissa Leslie.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Carrie Shockey.

Mr. Shockey served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and achieved the rank of sergeant. He was a member of the South Buckhannon Mission Church and a former supervisor at Business Forms.

Mr. Shockey was a 50- year member of the Cave Lodge 81 A.F. & A.M., the Upshur County Osiris Shriners Club and a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge 598 in Buckhannon.

His greatest accomplishment was that of being an outstanding husband, father and always a good friend.

Friends will be received Saturday, June 18, 2022, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the South Buckhannon Mission Church.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday from the church with Pastor Ed Lowther officiating.

Burial will follow in the Upshur County Memorial Park in Tennerton, West Virginia.

The Upshur County Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the graveside.
