Donna M Fisher
Donna Maxine Fisher, 81, of Scottsdale, Arizona died Sunday, May 17, 2009 at her home in Scottsdale.
She was born December 21, 1927 in Grant Co, IN to Harvey and Irena Cole Shockey. Mrs Fisher married Richard [Dick] Paul Fisher in New Haven, IN on Apr 16, 1946, when he returned home after serving three years in the US Navy in the South Pacific during WWII. He died Jan 26, 1969.
Mrs Fisher and her husband owned and operated a sundry store in Roann, IN, until 1954 when they opened a real estate brokerage office in Wabash. Following her husbands death, Mrs Fisher moved to Phoenix, AZ, in 1973, where she sold real estate for 3 1/2 years. In 1976, Mrs Fisher began working for the AZ Dept of Real Estate as an investigator and later became the assistant director of the subdivision section before retiring in 1994.
Mrs Fisher enjoyed traveling, having traveled extensively throughout the United States and made two trips around the globe. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a former member of the Wabash Country Club.
Mrs Fisher is survived by 4 children, Richard P [Nancy] Fisher Jr of Wabash, Michael G [Amy] Fisher of Sweetser, IN, Joseph T [Stephanie] Fisher of Phoenix, and Mary T [Craig] Fisher-Pinson of Scottsdale; Brother, Daniel N [Dotti] Shockey of Beaver Dam, VA; 8 Grandchildren, 6 Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 1 brother and 5 sisters.
Funeral services will be held at Church of the Holy Trinity, 34 W Main Street, Peru, IN on Friday, May 22, 2009 at 10 AM with Rev Father Douglas E Hungerford officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawns Cem, Wabash.
Friends may call 4-7 pm Thursday at Grandstaff-hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave, Wabash. Preferred memorial is Church of the Holy Trinity, Peru, IN.
