Doris A. Barnhart *
Mrs. Doris “Dot” A. (McCleary) Miller Shockey Barnhart, 87, formerly of Golden Springs Drive Waynesboro, PA and currently a resident of Homewood at Williamsport, Williamsport, MD passed away Friday, November 16, 2018 at Homewood.
Born December 6, 1930 in Waynesboro, PA she was the daughter of the late Charles E. McCleary, Sr. and Helen V. (Brown) McCleary. She spent her life living in between the Waynesboro, Hagerstown, MD and Hollywood, FL areas.
Mrs. Barnhart was a graduate of the Waynesboro High School with the Class of 1948.
She was a homemaker until her children went to school and was then employed at various places in Florida and Waynesboro.
Mrs. Barnhart attended churches locally in Waynesboro. She enjoyed crocheting, making ceramics, playing hand-held poker game, and traveling as long as she was in the driver’s seat.
She is survived by two sons, Douglas Miller and his wife Deborah of Loxahatchee, FL and Brian Miller of Waynesboro; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Sanders of Chambersburg, PA; five grandchildren, Jason Miller, Jennifer Rowe, Shawn Miller, Jenna Miller, and Ryan Miller; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia M. Bakner of Williamsport and Mary C. Eyler of Waynesboro; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Miller; second husband, Richard “Ricky” Shockey; third husband H. Allen Barnhart.; one son, Jeffrey Miller; three brothers, Charles E. McCleary, Jr., John F. McCleary, and Donald E. McCleary.
Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Friday, November 23, 2018 in the Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad Street, Waynesboro, PA with Chaplain Doug Wagner officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, S. Potomac Street, Waynesboro, PA.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Friday afternoon in the funeral home.
