Edith Biddle, 100
REMINGTON – Edith M. Biddle, 100, formerly of Remington, died at 1:45 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2008, at Regency Place of Lafayette where she had resided since June 2005.
She was born March 17, 1907, in Livingston County, Ill., to the late Paul and Mary Cornwell. She graduated from Wolcott High School in 1924.
On June 12, 1929, she married Chester B. Biddle, who preceded her in death. She worked on the farm for many years with her husband.
Mrs. Biddle was a member of Remington Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday school for more than 50 years, Tri Kappa sorority, Dorcas Club and Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed Fountain Park Chautauqua and attended numerous Purdue events.
Surviving are a daughter, Suzanne Belcher (husband: Richard E.) of Rochester, and a son, D. William “Bill” Biddle (wife: Janet) of Remington.
Visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 18, 2008, from 5-7 p.m. (EST) at Stitz Funeral Home, Remington. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 19, at 11 a.m. (EST) at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 211 Knox Dr., West Lafayette, IN 47906. Private Interment at Remington Cemetery. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 1 great-grandchild; brothers, Frank, Ardis and Hughes Cornwell; sister, Lucille Brown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fountain Park Chautauqua, or to the Chester B.
