Gary L Gomia *
Gary L. Gomia, Age 72, of Middletown, Ohio, passed away Thursday, October 22, 2020, at Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties where he had been a patient for 1 ½ days. He was born October 14, 1948, in Middletown, and lived here most of his life. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Enterprise CVAN-65 from 1967–1971. Over the years he had been employed at Aeronca, Gates Lear Jet, Dason’s Hardware Store and served as the Desk Clerk at Hope House. Preceding him in death were his parents, Joseph Lee and Dolores (Shockey) Gomia; and his wife Vickie Gomia in 1979. He is survived by his son, Shawn M. Gomia; two granddaughters, Casey Lynn Gomia and Hannah Nicole Gomia; one brother Paul Gomia; one sister, Pam (Chris) Hunter; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 4, 2020, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Middletown, Ohio 45055. Graveside services will be Thursday, November 5, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. at the Veteran’s Section, Woodside Cemetery, Middletown, Ohio, with Dr. Dan Flory officiating.
