Gertrude Loper *
Russell-Gertrude Anna Loper, 67, died July 15 at Colby as the result of an automobile accident (car-truck accident on I-70 15 miles west of Colby). Born Gertrude Anna Zorn Sept. 10, 1916, to Hubert and Helena (Hickel) Zorn at Barton Co., she had been a resident of Bunker Hill since 1935. She married George H. Loper July 27, 1936, at Wilson. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Loper was a member of the Church Guild and St. Mary’s Catholic Church, both of Russell.
Survivors include her husband of the home; one son, Keith Loper of Bunker Hill; three daughers, Betty Lou Newton of Goodman, MO; Sharilyn Maberry of Ellinwood; and Sherith Risher of Russell; four sisters, Marjorie Hoke of Dorrance, Leona Robinson of Hoisington, Bridget Pittser of Liberal and Alice Lou Zorn of Glendora, CA.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wed. at the church with the Rev. James Grennan officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery in Russell. Memorials suggested to St. Francis Hospital Burn Center, Wichita.
