MAN, 78, DIES IN HOSPITAL – OAK HILL (RNS) Harry Clarence Martin, 78, died Thursday morning in a Beckley hospital after a long illness. He was a disabled coal miner, having last worked at the Brooklyn Coal Co. Born in Kanawha County, Nov. 2, 1896, he was a son of the late William and Nory Martin. Survivors include his wife, Ida May Shockey Martin; three sons, Clarence Lee of Marrietta, Ohio; Harry Wayne of Oak Hill and O’Dell of Ypsilanti, Mich.; four daughters, Mrs. Joann Treadway of Pliny and Mrs. Linda Sears , Miss Georgia Martin and Miss Dorothy Mae Martin, all of Oak Hill; two brothers, Alf of Terre Haute and Herman of Nellis; one sister, Mrs. Ada Beasley of Charleston, and eight grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Rev. Bill Menefee in charge. Burial will be in Huse Memorial Park at Fayetteville. Friends may call from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. today.
