Jacob Gearhart
JACOB GEARHART, aged 81 years, died yesterday afternoon at his home in Shady Grove. Old age infirmities was the cause of death. He had been complaining of ill health for the last few weeks.
Mr. Gearhart was born in Maugansville, the son of Jacob and Frances Gearhart. He lived in Franklin county all his life, having been a farmer up until 36 years ago when he retired.
He had lived in Shady Grove for the last 33 years. Deceased was at one time vice president of the Citizens National Bank of Greencastle and at a different times served as road supervisor and school director in Antrim township.
Five children survive, Mrs. William Martin, State Line; Mrs. Jonas Eshelman, Mason and Dixon; Mrs. Samuel Bemisderfer, Shady Grove; Samuel and Ira Gearhart, Shady Grove.
The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon, leaving the house at 2 o’clock, services in Hade’s church, north of Shady Grove. Burial will be in the adjoining graveyard.
