John T Whybrew *
John Thomas Whybrew, 82, passed away on a Tuesday morning, at home following a lengthy illness.
John was born on the family farm, the son of Albert and Genevieve (Wylie) Whybrew. He was raised on the family farm in Rapid River and graduated in 1954 from Rapid River High School. John continued his education at the MSU Agriculture School.
John was united in marriage to the former Victoria Micheau on Oct. 22, 1966, at the St. Charles Catholic Church in Rapid River. They made their home on the Whybrew farm where they raised their four children.
In his younger years, John was active in 4-H and later taught 4-H. Farming and family was his life. He also enjoyed hunting and motorcycle riding. John loved all animals but had a special fondness for his dogs and cows. He will be sadly missed.
He was survived by: his wife of 50 years, Vickie; son, Scott (Carrie) Whybrew; daughters, Kristine (David Hicks) Hill, Kimberly (Marshall) Dalgord, Katherine (Brian) Hedges; sisters, Alice (Frank) Lundberg, and Elizabeth (Carl) Beyne; 12 grandchildren, Amber (Adam) Wert, Jace (Chelsea) Dalgord, Michael Hill, John Dalgord, Deidre (Vinnie) Hill, Jordan (Nathan) Jarvi, Joseph Dalgord, Holli Hill, Taylor Hedges, Hunter Hill, Weston Hedges and Zachary (Akasha) Pohja; 7 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and many cousins.
