Johnny P Rambo *

Johnny Paul Rambo, 76, of Ada, passed away on January 28, 2025 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Johnny was born February 12, 1948 in Ada, Oklahoma to his parents Jessie E. Rambo and Vera Margaret Rambo. As a young man attended school in the Byars/Asher area and graduated in 1967. Johnny was a Vietnam Era Vet, and was a very proud veteran who loved to serve his country. He went on to be a truck driver for over twenty-five years. He married the love of his life, Beverly Jean in Ada, Oklahoma and they lovingly raised their two girls, and shared forty-eight wonderful years together. Johnny loved his family dearly, and took great pride in making sure that they were all very well taken care of. He also enjoyed time in his vegetable garden, and he could grow just about anything you could imagine. Johnny also loved his yard work, caring for others, shopping, vehicle maintenance, reading the Bible, natural remedies, and WWII history. Johnny was a unique and kind soul, who will be dearly missed by all of those who were blessed to have met him.
He is preceded in death by his parents Jessie E. and Vera Margaret Rambo and his brothers E.J. Rambo, Robert Rambo, and Kenneth Rambo.
He is survived by his wife Beverly Jean, his daughters Catherine (Randy) Ellis, Emily (James) Schreiber, his sister Sherry Price, his grandchildren Emrie, Avery, Alivia Ellis and Easton Schreiber, his mother in law Hazel Shockey and host of other family and friends.
Pallbearers: James Schreiber, Randy Ellis, Dennis Ellis, Ray Romine, Alan Shockey, Nathan Gwin, Nic Gwin, Jace Edelen, and Easton Schreiber.
Honorary Pallbearers: Larry (Dink) Wood, Scott Ayers, Shane Dodson.
Officiating: Kendelll Martin and Earl Hood
Interment: Center Cemetery
There will be a Graveside service held on Monday, February 3, 2025 at Center Cemetery in Pickett, Oklahoma at 1:00PM, the family encourages any and all who knew Johnny to please attend. Military Honors to be provided by The Chickasaw Nation Honor Guard.
Prior to the service there will be visitation held on Sunday, February 2, 2025 from 5:00PM – 7:00PM at Phillips Funeral Home in Ada.
