Kathleen B. Shockey
Kathleen B. Shockey, 91, of Sewickley, formerly of Meyersdale died September 17, 2014 at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born September 29, 1922 in Hay’s Mill, the daughter of Homer P. and Sadie S. (Swearman) Boger. Preceded in death by her parents; and brothers: Donald D. and Robert E. Boger.
Survived by her husband of 59 years, Henry Shockey; son: Robert Shockey, East Lansing, Michigan; daughter: Kathy Schoffstall, Sewickley; grandchildren: Elizabeth Morrell, David and Sarah Shockey, and Kurt and Brent Schoffstall; great grandson: John David Shockey; and brother: Homer S. Boger and wife Zona, Meyersdale.
She is a 1940 graduate of Berlin Brothersvalley High School. Kathleen was active in the Bridgeport United Methodist Church Women’s Circle and Handbell Choir; Bridgeport Garden Club, Bridge Club; and she ministered to the children at the Burlington Methodist Home.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale, where service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, with her son, Robert Shockey officiating. Interment Hay’s Mt. Zion UCC Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Purdue Christian Campus House, 1000 West State Street, West Lafayette, IN, 47906, in her name, where her grandson David is the pastor.
