Leona was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, where she served on various church committees. She was a founding member of the Sewing Club, which after incorporating the club’s husbands, became less about sewing and instead a popular social gathering of friends for many decades. After Edgar’s death, she enjoyed eating out, playing cards or dominoes, and working in her yard. She was proud of her well-manicured landscape and beautiful home, which was always decorated lovely for Christmas. Leona was a strong, proud woman to the very end.
