Leona Wilhelm *
COLUMBIANA – Leona Elouise Reesh Wilhelm, 95, passed away early Tuesday morning, September 1 at Parkside Health Care Center in Columbiana.
Elouise was born on September 26, 1919, in New Springfield, a daughter of the late Clark and Alice (Heck) Reesh. She attended Shady Hill elementary school in New Waterford, OH and graduated from Columbiana High School. Elouise married Robert N. Miller on July 5, 1942; he passed away May 29, 1969. She married Clarence K. Wilhelm January 21, 1984, and together they lived in North Lima while spending most of their winters in Florida.
Elouise enjoyed being a homemaker, and also worked at various groceries. She was a dispatcher with the Columbiana Police Department for nine years, retiring in 1980. Elouise was a member of the Jerusalem Lutheran Church in Columbiana, and of the Faith Circle of the church. She also belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary Post 290 of Columbiana.
She is survived by her husband, Clarence; one daughter Lenore L. (Robert) Miller-Franklin of Mannford, OK; one son Richard N. (Sherry) Miller of Seattle, WA; step-daughters Karen (Ed) Holisky of Columbiana and Melanie (Ron) Krbec-Hayes of Cape Caneveral, FL; step son-in-law Dave Brandt of Manning, SC; five grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren, 5 step-great-grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She also leaves her sister Leila McCamon.
Elouise was preceded in death by a brother Leonard Reesh, a sister Mary Sims and a step daughter Bonnie Brandt.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 4 at 11:00 a.m. at Jerusalem Lutheran Church, 415 S. Main Street, Columbiana with the Pastor Sean Myers and Pastor William Wilkins officiating.
