Mary E Horner
Mary Evelyn (Hunter) Horner, 86, of Laurel View Village, Davidsville, formerly of Boswell, died Feb. 28, 2000, at the Village. Born Sept. 1, 1913, in Greenville Township. Daughter of Frank D. and Matilda (Shockey) Hunter. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Ernest D., July 25, 1994; infant brother Jack; and brothers Ralph and Franklin “Gene”. Survived by son, Dr. David E., married to JoAnn Lewis, Ambler; granddaughters, Beth Anne and Amy Lee; sister, Betty E. Walker, Boswell; and brothers, William L., Somerset; and Walter Lee, Mendota Heights, Minn. Member of St. Andrew Evangelical Lutheran Church, Boswell, where she formerly participated in many activities of the church including the Friendly Bible Class and Knotty Ladies. Past member of the former Silver Ray Rebekah Lodge, Boswell. Along with husband, she was co-owner, operator of the former Horner’s General Store, Boswell, for many years. Friends received from 6-9 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until time of service at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Hoffman Funeral Home, Allegheny Street, Boswell. Larry C. Hoover officiating. Interment Somerset County Memorial Park. Memorials to Laurel View Village or St. Andrew’s Church would be appreciated.
