Mary Ann Shockey
Died—Mrs. Mary Shockey, widow of David Shockey, died at the home of her son John L. Shockey, in the Black Corner, Friday last, after an illness of only one week. She was aged 79 years, 5 months and 9 days. Her funeral was held Sunday monring at 9 o’clock. Services were conducted in the United Brethren church near Tomstown, where she had been a faithful member. Her pastors, Revs. D.J. Peters and Perie, preached teh funeral sermon. Afterward her body was buried in the Altodale graveyard. Five sons John L., Lewis, David, Jere and Jacob Shockey and four daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Rook, Mrs. Katie Kauffman, Mrs. Hannah Young and Mrs. Sallie Nunnemacher, survive her.
