Michael F. Shockey *
Mike F. Shockey, 70, of rural Bryant, IN, passed away at 10:45 PM on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at his home in Bryant, IN. He was born on Sunday, May 31, 1953, in Circleville, OH. He married Debra (Whitfield) Shockey on Wednesday, November 13, 1974 in Shelbyville, IN. Mike was a graduate of Shelbyville High School. He worked for Moorman’s Manufacturing for 35 years in Bluffton and later retired from Sunoco in Portland. Mike was a follower of the Baptist faith. He was a Hall of Fame member of the Bluffton Bowling Assn. and a former member of the Montpelier Lions Club. Mike enjoyed watching Ohio State, Nascar, and loved to bowl.
He will be sadly missed by his Wife – Debra (Whitfield) Shockey, Bryant, IN, Son – Mike (Heather) Shockey, Fort Wayne, IN, Daughters – Kim (Clint) Abney, Bryant, IN, Alisha (Tuan) Pham, Fredericksburg, VA, Grandchildren – Caitlin Shockey, Fort Wayne, IN, Kendall Shockey, Fort Wayne, IN, Quynh Pham, Fredericksburg, VA, and Tai Pham, Fredericksburg, VA.
He was preceded in death by his Father – Harold Franklin Shockey, Mother – Mildred (Hamilton) Shockey, and Sister – Joan Baldwin.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home located at 109 W. Windsor St Montpelier on Thursday, February 8, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
A service to celebrate Mike’s life will follow at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home at 3:00 PM on Thursday, February 8, 2024 with Pastor Fred Stevens officiating. Interment will follow in the Brookside Memorial Park in Montpelier.
