Mrs. Beulah E. Kauffman
Mrs. Beulah E. “Lizzie” Kauffman, 86, formerly of 10800 Country Club Road, Waynesboro, and a resident of Franklin County Nursing Home, died at 11:48 A. M. Thursday, Jul 19, in the home. She was in failing health for the past 11 years and was critically ill for the past two days. Born Dec 12, 1903 in Quincy Township, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Nettie (Shockey) Monn. She lived in Quincy and Washington Township area all her life. She and her late husband, John W. Kauffman, were married March 10, 1923, and he died on March 3, 1977. In her early life, Mrs. Kauffman was employed at Waynesboro Laundry. She was a member of the Fairview Brethren in Christ Church. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Louella J. Reed of Waynesboro; two brothers, Douglas R. Kauffman and Charles R. Kauffman, both of Waynesboro, five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; thre step grandchildren; six step-great grandchildren; five step great great grandchildren and three sisters, Mrs. Emma Decker, Mrs. Addie Mentzer and Mrs. Mary Jan Strausner, all of Waynesboro. Mrs. Kauffman was preceded in death by one sister and four brothers. Services will be held at 3 P. M. Sunday in the Grove Funeral Home with the Rev. Lynn I. Thrush officiating. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 7 to 9 P.M. Saturday.
