Mrs. Helen Shockey Fitz
Mrs Helen Shockey Fitz, 79, widow of Ezra G Fitz, Sr., 116 N. Church St., died unexpectedly at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at her home. She had been in failing health since suffering a heart attack five years ago. Mrs Fitz was born at Rouzerville, June 25, 1892, a daughter of the late Jacob A and S Elizabeth (Zeigler) Rodgers. Her early life was lived at Rouzerville. She and her first husband, the late E Glen Shockey, lived at Waynesboro RD4 and later at Tanneytown. Following Mr Shockey’s death, she returned to Waynesboro in 1944. Mr and Mrs Fitz ware married in 1952. Mr Fitz died in September,1955. Mr Fitz was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church. She is survived by one son, Joseph M. Shockey, Waynesboro; two grandchildren and two stepchildren, Ezra G Fitz,Jr., Zullinger and Mrs Robert M Palmer, Chambersburg RD8. The funeral will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the Grove Funeral Home in charge of Pastor Glen L Stahl. Entombment will be made in Norland Cemetery Mausoleum, Chambersburg. Friends may call at the funeral home prior to the services on Friday.
