Mrs. Lila Bell Shockey
MRS. LILA BELL SHOCKEY, of 109 West King Street, widow of Edward Shockey, died at 10 a.m. today at the Wayneshoro Hospital. She had suffered a fall at her apartment Dec 20 and was removed to the hospital. She was to undergo an operation this morning to reduce the fracture of her left hip broken in the fall. Mrs. Shockey was born near Rouzerville and lived her early life in that vicinity. Following her marriage, she resided at Hooverville, and since the death of her husband 20 years ago made her home in Waynesboro. She was a member of the First Brethren Church. Surviving is a sister, Mrs. Carrie B. Unger, Waynesboro, four step children, Hobart Shockey, Hagerstown, Mrs. Norman Fair, Mrs. Laban Wingert and Mrs. Jesse Baer, all of Waynesboro. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. from the Grove Funeral Home, in charge of Rev. William Gray. Burial will be made in Green Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday evening from 7 to 9.
