City Resident’s Father Expires

LAFONTAINE – Funeral services for Myron Shockey, 76, of Marion, the father of a Logansport woman, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Hunter Funeral Home in LaFontaine.

A retired farmer, he died at 7 p.m. Friday at his home.

Born Sept 3, 1899, in Grant County, he was the son of Nelson and Liza Thompson. He married Helen Flook in 1920.

Surviving with the wife are three daughters, Lauretta Brock of Marion, Helen Stephens of Marion, and Fanchion Stair of Logansport; one son, Elmer of LaFontaine; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Ruth Shockey, Nora Shockey, and Olive Shockey, all of Marion, and Evelyn Harley of Marion.

Burial will be at the Garden of Memories, Huntington County.
