Patricia S Shockey *
Mrs. Patricia (Pat) Seymore Shockey, 75 of Gainesville passed away unexpectedly Wednesday December 29, 2021 at her residence. Pat was born on May 28, 1946 in Nashville, Tennessee to Harold W. and Lura Gammons Seymore.
Pat grew up in Donelson, Tennessee and graduated from Donelson High School in 1964. After High School she graduated from Memphis State University with a degree in education and went on to a Master of Education degree in early childhood education from the University of Tennessee.
While teaching kindergarten in Memphis, Tennessee she met on a blind date and married Phil Shockey on December 19, 1970. They were happily married for 51 years. She loved teaching little children for all her life.
She formed many wonderful friendships while a member of the Gainesville Newcomers Club and her church Gainesville First United Methodist Church.
Pat is survived by her husband Phil Shockey of Gainesville, sons Jason of Flowery Branch and John of Cumming, grandchildren Malachi, Noah and Gabriel of Commerce and Kaylee Harkins of Gainesville. She loved her sons and grandchildren with all her heart and compassion. She was a wonderful, loving and consoling mother, wife, and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Due to current Covid concerns a Celebration of the Life of Patricia S. Shockey service will be announced at a later date.
