Quilt 2016-17
This quilt was designed by Charlotte Shockey. She saw how many years ago they would have raffles at the Shockey Reunions to raise money for the Shockey Family Fellowship Inc. and thought it would be great to create a beautiful family heirloom that can raise money.
The quilt is mostly made up of blocks that Charlotte considered to reflect on the Shockey family in some way. She even created three blocks: Shockeysville Church, Shockey Gang Cave, and the brick to represent the foundation of John Christopher Shockey’s homestead.
Stacie Briggs did the amazing work of hand stitching the big square, the name square, the names on the sashing AND put all our blocks together finishing out the quilt.
Below are photos of each person with their squares and final quilt with those who were able to make it to the reunion as well as the winner.
