Phyllis R. Bakner

Phyllis R. (Addlesberger) , 74 of 27 N. Grant Street, Waynesboro, died at 5 A.M. Sunday July 9, , in her home. Death was unexpected and attributed to heart failure.  Born May 19, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Franklin and Elva May () Addlesberger. She was a lifelong resident of the Waynesboro area.  She and her husband, Junior A. Bakner, were married May 26, 1944. Mr. Bakner died Oct 7, . The couple moved to the Grant Street residence in .  Mrs. Bakner was employed in her early life at the Waynesboro Shoe Factory and later at the Waynesboro Knitting Mill. Prior to retiring in Jul she was a machine operator at Connie’s Sportswear, Waynesboro for 27 years.  She was a member of South Chapter 2977 AARP, Waynesboro and the National AARP.  Mrs. Bakner is survived by two daughters, Patricia A. Hoffman and Karen L. Ridge, both of Waynesboro; three grandchildren; three sisters, Lillian Frantz and Hilda Rowe, both of Waynesboro and Louise of Keedysville, Md; and a brother, Franklin Addlesberger of A York.  She was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Addlesberger in .  Services will be held at 10:30.A. M. Wednesday in Grove Funeral Home, Waynesboro, with Pastor Richard L. Thorp officiating. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery, near Quincy. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 P.M. Tuesday in the funeral home.
